Whilst the main purpose of this list is to provide links to sites or directories with public domain works, many sites mix public domain with "free ebooks". Such books can come with a bewildering variety of rights, ranging from "PU" - personal use only - to "full plr" - private label rights that you can do pretty much anything with.
This shouldn’t cause a problem as it should be made clear on the individual site, but, sadly, sometimes it isn’t, so please note that it is a condition of use that we are only relaying these links and haven’t checked the status of all the individual books - I’m afraid the responsibility for that lies with you!
