PD
Whilst the main purpose of this list is to provide links to sites or directories with public domain works, many sites mix public domain with "free ebooks". Such books can come with a bewildering variety of rights, ranging from "PU" - personal use only - to "full plr" - private label rights that you can do pretty much anything with.
This shouldn’t cause a problem as it should be made clear on the individual site, but, sadly, sometimes it isn’t, so please note that it is a condition of use that we are only relaying these links and haven’t checked the status of all the individual books - I’m afraid the responsibility for that lies with you! A good place to start your copyright searches is http://www.copyright.gov/records/cohm.html
If you have any resources to add to the list, please let me know by email (ebizking.com(at)gmail.com) - and likewise if any of these go dead - thanks!
